IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are 70 ½ or older, you may make a contribution of up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to a qualified charitable institution up until December 31, 2009.  This “IRA Charitable Rollover” is for a limited time only, and it does NOT qualify as a charitable deduction…but these proceeds from your IRA will not be counted as taxable income to you.  Consult your financial advisor to see if this is advisable in your own particular situation.
